User summary

Creating notes in Storyloft gives research and planning a home outside the manuscript—tagged, binder-organized, and searchable from the Notes library or the editor Library tab. Authors searching for New Note, Add a tag, or Save Note use /notes/new and the shared note editor. For chapter-tied scrap notes inside a book, use the editor Manuscript notes panel instead.

What it does

  • Controls tabs Format and Tags
  • Format: headings, text style, alignment, lists, links (Enter URL)
  • Tags: Add a tag… + Add; remove with × on pills
  • Binder dropdown Add to Binder
  • New notes: Save Note / Saving…; existing: auto-save toast Note saved successfully

Tips

  • Tags are free text—pick a consistent vocabulary (e.g. research, chapter-3).
  • Eddy Save to Notes can create library notes from AI replies.
  • Manuscript chapter assignment is not done here—use editor Notes → Assign.
  • Format tab tools mirror writing comfort without needing the full manuscript editor.
