Steps

Step 1 — Open Books on a wide screen

Go to Books. On desktop, find the right Writing Goals panel.

Step 2 — Choose a book for milestones

Under Your Milestones, open Choose a book and select a manuscript.

Step 3 — Review milestone progress

Watch completed vs total milestones and encouragement cards as you hit word thresholds.

Step 4 — Read writing stats

Scan Total Words Written, daily record, streak, and Consistency Score mood label.

Step 5 — Set a daily goal in the editor

Open your manuscript. Click the trophy / Writing Goals control to open the drawer titled Writing Goals.

Step 6 — Change Goal

Click Change Goal, enter a daily word target, and Save. Default starts around 500 words if you never changed it.

Step 7 — Write and celebrate

As you type, Words Written Today updates. Hitting the goal can toast Congratulations! You met your writing goal. Use Reset Count only if you intend to clear today’s count.
