User summary
Storyloft Lead Pages are specially formatted front-matter pages—cover, copyright, dedication, and custom sheets—that appear before the table of contents in your manuscript structure. Authors searching for Cover Page or Dedication Page editing use the Contents sidebar accordion, not the Format tab. Completing lead pages before ebook/print export keeps legal and dedication content in the right place.
What it does
- Accordion Lead Pages / Lead Pages ({N}) with info: pages that come before the Table of Contents
- Buttons: Cover Page, Copyright Page, Dedication Page, Custom Page (checkmark when content exists)
- Modal Create/Edit {section} with Title / Subtitle toolbar helpers, status Saving… / Saved, footer Close / Save
Steps
Step 1 — Open Contents
In the editor, open left Navigation → Contents.
Step 2 — Expand Lead Pages
Click Lead Pages. Optionally open Lead Pages info to read the description.
Step 3 — Choose a front-matter page
Click Cover Page, Copyright Page, Dedication Page, or Custom Page.
Step 4 — Edit in the modal
Use Title / Subtitle tools as needed and type the page content. Watch for Loading… on first open.
Step 5 — Save
Click Save (or Close, which can auto-save). Confirm Saved status.
Step 6 — Repeat for other lead pages
Add copyright and dedication at minimum for many books; use Custom Page for extras (epigraph-only pages, etc.).
Step 7 — Verify in Contents and export
Return to Contents—filled pages may show indicators. Export ebook/print when the front matter reads correctly.
Tips
- Cover page text here differs from Cover Creator artwork—use both as needed.
- Keep copyright accurate for your rights situation (this isn’t legal advice).
- Dedication stays short—long notes belong in chapters or Notes.
- Checkmarks help see which lead pages already have content.
